Best Burgers in NYC – Part 1

Imagine a warm sesame bun slathered in butter, your choice of meat patty with a generous helping of oozy melted cheese, some lettuce and onions, spiced mayo, married together like a celebration of flavours and colours. Yep, its gonna be one helluva burger.

The ‘Hamburger’ was first created in the 1900’s and has ever since been an American favourite and staple.

Whether you’re visiting New York City or a local, you should know about some of the best burger places in the city!

Here’s a list of some of the best burgers in NYC:

1. Emily

919 Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11238, USA

Emily is essentially a pizzeria but makes everything really well, from pizzas to burgers to chicken wings! Their main attraction has got to be The Burger. ITs a seven pound house-made dry-aged beef patty served with caramelised onions, their secret aioli sauce on a pretzel bun! This burger feels like heaven and tastes exactly like a steak at an expensive restaurant. Some say its where luxury meets comfort food. Based a $19, this is surely worth trying.

2. Shake Shack

Madison Ave & E 23rd St, New York, NY 10010, USA

How could we not mention the legendary fast food chain Shake Shack for their delicious ShackBurger!? This beautiful creation contains a well roasted bun enclosing a thin patty, some lettuce and tomato and holy pepperoni, this is good! Make it a double or a single but I’d bet you’ll definitely go for more. The simplicity and execution makes this burger one to definitely try on your next trip to the city!

3. Lure Fishbar

142 Mercer St, New York, NY 10012, USA

The Lure burger is what the American dream is made of. A lot of people travel from all over the state to enjoy this simplified meaty goodness. With freshly cut tomatoes, lettuce and pickles, dressed in their special house sauce and American cheese, this juicy bad boy comes with onion rings on top and crispy fries on the side!

These burgers are my guilty pleasures. I always buy one for my regular NYC to Washington DC bus journeys.
