Best Food in Chinatown – Part 2

Chinatown is a wonderful downtown neighbourhood, offering you some of the city’s best Chinese restaurants, choicest Mexican food joints, California cool-cafes and ramen spots all with lip-smackingly delicious food.

New restaurants and cafes are entering the market through Chinatown and have some excellent fusion food, waiting to be tried by you.

If you’re not in the city you can always take one of the day bus trips to NYC and be on your way to Chinatown.

Here’s a list of some of the best eats in Chinatown:

1. Spicy Village

It literally is in a hole in the wall! This place is perfect for adventurous eaters and traditional flavour seekers, offering a variety of soups, noodles and dumplings. It is recommended to try the Number 7, a tray full of spicy chicken, on the bone and marinated in beer served with chilly and spice oil. If its too hot be sure to order a side of noodles.

2. Great N.Y Noodletown

This place lives up to its name, every single day seeing the most amazing angel hair noodles that are boiled and lightly fried in a flavoursome chicken broth with a meat topping of your choices like chicken, roasted pork, ribs, duck or suckling pig. You can also get one of the signature dishes with Chinese chives tossed with squid, scallops, duck or fish!

3. Lalito

104 Bayard St, New York, NY 10013, USA

From outside, this place might look like one of the typical Chinatown restaurants but as you enter all traces of that thought are gone. This New Age Mexican joint shows exactly how diverse Chinatown will be in the future. Lalito is great for cocktails, they come in 3 sizes – single, lovers and family, but also good for vegans and vegetarians along with meat lovers.
