The expectation of happy hours is to have reasonably priced liquor after a long day of work, to just sit back, relax and unwind. The reality of the same is overcrowded bars with no place to sit or stand, with people constantly pushing into you to squeeze in what little amount of space there is to order their next drink at the bar.
But there are some places that exceed our expectations and give you the drink and relaxation you need.
When it is late, the best way to get back from the bar is to check the NYC bus time and hop on the next bus.
Here’s a list of some of the bars with great happy hour deals:
1. The Wayland
When to go: The Wayland has it’s happy hours from 4-7pm on weekdays.
This tavern vibed bar has a wonderful selection of wines for $6 a glass, cocktails for $7 and beer for $5! The quality is unmatched and doesn’t give you that happy hour feels. Instead, you can just pop in with your co-workers for a couple of drinks post working hours.
When to go: Botanica has its happy hours seven days a week from 5-8pm.
The best part about this divey basement level bar is the ridiculously cheap prices during happy hours!
The drafts are for $3, all well-made drinks for $4 and select wines for $5 a glass. Although this place is buzzing with office-goers, the bartenders are exceptionally fast in mixing drinks and serving them.
3. The Rosemont
When to go: The Rosemount has it’s happy hours between 5 and 9 pm during weekdays and between 3 and 9 pm during the weekends.
The Rosemont is a completely uppity, pristine and deliciously artful bar in Art Deco. The deals here are generous offering drafts, wines and wells for $5 and classic cocktails for $8! The atmosphere is amazing and it has a beautiful backyard too.
