Cool Themed Bars in NYC – Part 1

Do you like your Vodka Martini shaken or stirred?

Do you like a wedge of lime in your Rum and Coke?

Are you tired of the same old cocktails and beers?

Looking for a new place to wet your throat and recover from a week of work and play?

New York City has all kinds of bars and drinking holes around every block for you to choose from, but if you feel like you want another purpose to drink this Friday night, pick one of these really cool themed bars:

1. Beauty Bar

231 E 14th St, New York, NY 10003, USA

Be ready to be transported to the ’60s beauty parlour! This vintage bar used to be Thomas Beauty Salon but nothing much has changed in terms of the seats and vibes. You could enjoy a cocktail in one hand and get a manicure on the other for $10! This bar is ideal for your next girls night out or date night because Beauty Bar hosts live comics, dance parties, live DJ’s and burlesque shows.

2. Please Don’t Tell ( PDT)

113 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10009, USA

Visit Please Don’t Tell if you’ve always wanted to feel like a double agent on holiday! This bar’s entrance is a vintage phone booth! Sneakily dial a number and gain all access to this dimly lit bar with funky fusions like bacon-infused bourbon with maple syrup. PDT seems to be New York’s worst-kept secret and is quite popular, so be sure to call before arriving, in style, to avoid the wait!

3. Sid’s Gold Request Room

165 W 26th St, New York, NY 10001, USA

Sophistication meets good music to create Sid’s Gold Request Room`. This classic take on a Piano bar should be on your weekend planner for sure. Sid’s offers live piano performances ranging from jazz to rock to pop to classic sub-genres, with bar stools and seats around a huge Grand Piano. If you like karaoke, you’ll get your golden moment on the mic, if you’re shy you could participate in the numerous sing-alongs!

P.S. For tourists staying in Washington DC, don’t drink and drive, you can also take the last bus from NYC to Washington DC if you get late.
