Eat in Chinatown for Under $5! – Part 2

There are some neighborhoods that sell the priciest food ever and if you happen to be working there, there goes a chunk of your daily wages in their gold bucket. But there are some humble and friendly neighborhoods around that you could slip away to and dine on the dime like the true king/queen you are.  Just use a bus tracker to find the bus going to Chinatown and enjoy these pocket-friendly but delicious treats!

1. XO Kitchen

What to eat: Steamed Mixed Pork Rice Roll with XO Sauce, I think the name of the dish totally covers all the ingredients. Can’t explain it better than the title.

2. Vanessa’s Dumpling

How to reach: 220 E 14th St, New York, NY 10003, USA

What to eat: Sesame Pancake with Peking Duck. A sesame sprinkled semi-sweet flatbread covers hoisin flavored Peking duck with cucumbers. You will not feel even close to broke after this meal.

3. Fay Da Bakery

What to eat: Baby Cheesecake. Mini cheesecake, Y’all! Creamy, tangy, sweet and never enough!

What to eat: Snow White Mango Slush-O. Mango Mango just could be the Starbucks to Chinatown providing amazingly refreshing beverages. This 16oz drink is a mango smoothie with chunks of fruit, topped with coconut cream. A perfect end to a perfect meal or an equally awesome accompaniment.
