Almost all of us are big-time foodies. And every other day, we tend to eat our way around the city. And I, in particular, happen to have a sweet tooth as well, which comes with an utter lack of self-control. The worst thing about it is that I cannot pass by any cake shop/bakery/candy store.
New York City is buzzing with crave-worthy sweet treats. It is known for its wonderful desserts and crave-worthy sweets as much as it’s known for its lip-smacking food.
For all those who crave sugar as much as I do, I’ve rounded up a list of my favourite sweet spots in New York City. Keep in mind that this isn’t an all-inclusive listing but only includes some of my go-to sweet stores.
So here are some sweet suggestions for you:
Magnolia Bakery is a chain of bakeries which was founded in New York City in 1996. It’s known around the country for its out-of-the-world desserts and bakery products.
Vosges Haut Chocolat is an NYC-based eatery which specializes in exquisite truffles and chocolate bars. Some of its exotic flavours include spices, bacon, wild fennel pollen and Jamaican Rum.
Eleni’s New York
Been in this business for more than 20 years, Eleni’s has established itself as a go-to dessert destination for New Yorkers. Located in the Chelsea Market, it’s perhaps the city’s only nut-free bakery. It’s a delightful place that sells a plethora of products – from cupcakes and pretzels covered in chocolate to pies and cookies.
Well, these were some of the stores that help me satisfy my sweet tooth without any guilt.
Living in Washington DC has one major drawback. There isn’t much to munch on. These NYC eateries always have me coming to the city of dreams. While sticking around the city’s just not an option, whenever the sugar kick is on full throttle, I find myself riding a Washington DC to NYC bus.
