OurBus to launch Plattsburgh-New York bus service, filling the void of Amtrak Adirondacks

Due to the prolonged suspension of Amtrak’s Adirondack service, Plattsburgh has lost a vital transportation connection to Albany and New York City. OurBus as the #1 intercity bus brand in Northeast recognizes the unmet transportation demand of the Plattsburgh community, and is planning to launch a new route as soon as possible.

Buses will begin with select days only then gradually increase to multiple-weekly service from Plattsburgh to downstate locations like Saratoga Springs, Albany, and New York City. The bus will also make stops at Ridgewood Park-N-Ride in New Jersey.

This service will also provide new travel options for SUNY Plattsburgh students and staff to travel for school breaks.

OurBus is aiming for a pilot launch of the service in September or early August, and will gradually ramp up frequencies depending on ridership. Travel can be booked online at OurBus.com or through an app (Android / IOS) starting September 1.

Fares vary between $39-$79 each way, plus $2-5 in service fee & gas surcharge.

While OurBus handles the booking, customer service, and marketing, the bus routes will be operated by the company’s local partners.

Once the service launches, OurBus will be the only bus company offering downtown-to-downtown bus service from Plattsburgh to New York City.
